Update on Amanda Hypes Suppression Hearing
The Town Talk provides an update on the ongoing suppression hearing for Amanda Guweiler Hypes. Apparently, there appears to be some indication of a conspiracy involving the State Fire Marshall's Office and one of their K-9 investigators that was dismissed. Kurt Meyers, who had investigated the fire with his accelerant-sniffing dog, is now represented by Baton Rouge attorney Jill Craft.
Craft appeared evasive when replying to questions Small, Hypes' attorney, posed about Myers' dismissal. She answered the questions more directly after being called into Randow's chambers with the lawyers in the case. "Is there some sort of conspiracy afoot to do in Kurt Meyers?" Small asked. Craft responded: "We believe (the termination) to be retaliatory."
